Why Birds and Wolves Don't Trade Stones is a collaborative project between comic artist and rebel Ryerson University prof David Brame, and community storyteller/spoken word artist Lishai Peel. This dynamic graphic novel is an experiment in pushing the boundaries of traditional comics and combining poetry in the mix to create a visceral and breathtaking reading experience. The book tackles issues of race/identity, gender/intersectionality, violence and healing and asks the reader to occupy the space of both bird in flight and the open jaws of the wolf.
